Books Trends You Love But Just Can’t Pull Off

In this episode, Carmen and Rachel talk about book trends that you love, but just can’t seem to pull off. We love Pinterest and fun book trends, but who really has the time to make it happen. Let us know which book trends that you have tried and just can’t pull off. We also want to know what you think of the book trends we have mentioned. And remember, Gianni Versace said, “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are.” I would say that applies to more areas in life that just fashion.

Our Favorite Season – BANNED BOOKS

In this episode, Carmen and Rachel talk about their favorite season: BANNED BOOKS month! Our recommendation is to read at least two in the top-13 titles challenged in 2022. Let us know what you are reading for Banned Books month and which books you have read from the long list of historically banned books. And remember, the Right to Read day is not one day we celebrate. It’s every. Damn. Day.

Biographies and Autobiographies: Episode 93

Books that made you break up with an author: Episode 92

In this episode, Carmen and Rachel talk about books that made them break up with an author. They discuss authors that they won’t read. Let us know if you’ve ever broken up with an author, and let us know why. And we want to know what could happen, if anything, to have you go back and try another title by that author. And remember, Neal Sedaka said, “Breaking up is hard to do”, but Carmen and Rachel would disagree.

Poetry: Episode 91

This topic has been on our list of possible episode for a while. In this episode Carmen and Rachel are talking about poetry. Let us know what your experiences are with poetry, and recommend some of your favorites to us. And remember, Jean-Paul Sartre said, “Poetry creates the myth, the prose writer draws its portrait.”

Rating Systems: Episode 89

In this episode, Carmen and Rachel talk about reading rating systems. They talk about how others rate books and what kind of systems make sense. Let us know what kind of scale you use when you are rating books, and we also want to know if you read books based on ratings. If you do, which ones do you pay the most attention to? And also tell us what you like to consider when you are assigning a rating. And remember, Ernest Hemingway said, “There is no friend as loyal as a book.”
