Controversial Books in High School: Episode 65

In this episode, Carmen and Rachel are talking about banned books. But, more specifically, those books that are most challenged in the high school years, and why.  Let us know how you feel about books on booklists being challenged. And it’s okay if you don’t agree with us. This discussion needs to be held in way that is respectful and adult.

Continue to check us out on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

If you are against banning books, please take to social media, write letters, and, just in general, be that greasy wheel. We cannot let those who have yet to form an opinion think that the challengers are the only vocal ones.

And remember, Stephen Chbosky, author of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, said, “Banning books gives us silence when we need speech. It closes our ears when we need to listen. It makes us blind when we need sight.”
