I love the book Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. It is set in France and the story has two story plots. One set in 2006 and one in 1942. As the novel progresses, the story of a twelve year old girl named Sarah, who lived in 1942, emerges. I found this book moving and poignant.
I normally do not care for a Christian fiction because much of it is so predictable but I read a series way back around 2005 that I loved. It is called The Zion Covenant Series by Bodie Thorne. There are 9 books in the series. The story begins in 1936 and centers around Elisa, a beautiful, blonde, German/Jewish violinist in Germany. The series reveals how the Nazi Reign of Terror affected Germany, Poland, and Austria. As the series progresses, the author begins to focus on different characters and shows how their lives are disrupted and forever changed by the events of WWII. I have read thIs series twice.
Two excellent reading recommendations.
